Handcrafted Ceremonial Pipe from Red Wood
This ceremonial pipe is carved from carefully selected pieces of strong red wood, valued for its durability and deep symbolism. Each pipe is made by hand, by experienced artisans who pay attention to detail and to keeping the traditional form.
It sits comfortably in the hand and draws easily. The natural color of the wood brings warmth to the altar, and with time and use it darkens and becomes more beautiful.
How to Use the Pipe
Fill the bowl loosely with mapacho, without pressing it down too hard. Speak your intention into the tobacco before you light it. The smoke is drawn into the mouth and blown out, over the body, the space or the altar, and not inhaled into the lungs. When you finish, let the pipe cool and tap out the ash.
In Amazonian tradition, a pipe that is used in ceremony keeps the memory of that work, so many keep it only for ritual and never for anything else.
For the powdered form of the same plant, see Puro Mapacho.
